While technically a QR code can hold up to several thousand alphanumeric characters, practical usability dictates keeping your text much shorter. As you add more characters, the QR code pattern becomes denser and more complex. A highly dense QR code requires a very high-quality printer and a large print size to remain scannable by average smartphone cameras. We recommend keeping your text QR codes under 300 characters for the best balance of message length and reliable scannability.
